Lhasa is located in high Tibetan plateau at an altitude of 3650m above sea level. It is a beautiful city surrounded by mountain peaks ranging between 4400m and 5300m above sea level. Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International airport, Kathmandu, our office representative will pick up you and transfer by tourist vehicle to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel including BED AND BREAKFAST.
Day for visa preparation.
After our breakfast, we head towards the international airport to take a flight over mighty Himalayas range to Lhasa, Gongar International airport. From the plane, you will have massif views of Mt. Everest, (8,848m), Kanchenjunga (8,536m) and many other peaks. After your arrival then transfer to the HOTEL FOR refreshment. We highly advised you to take a rest this day to get acclimatized for the rest of the day. Overnight at the hotel includes bed and breakfast.
Following the morning meal, we took a trip to the Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. Built-in the 14th century, Drepung Monastery is considered as a sanctuary for about 10,000 monks in the past but now it holds about a few hundred monks as the numbers are declining. This astounding monastery strongly embraces the history, culture and religious beliefs of the Tibetan people. Another breathtaking monastery is Sera Monastery that sustains white-washed walls and golden roofs. While Jokhang monastery is one of the salient holy sites that untangles the deep-rooted enigma of Tibetan Buddhism. As moving on through the Barkhor Bazaar (market), we got to experience the enthusiasm and eagerness in its surroundings. Having the open-air stalls, shops and the crowd of the pilgrims, it is the central hub of Lhasa. Overnight at Lhasa included bed and breakfast.
We start our sightseeing around Lhasa after breakfast in the morning. Today we visit the wonderful Potala palace, Norbulinka a summer place of Dalai Lama and Tibetan Museum. We pay our first visit to Potala palace which dominant the city of Lhasa. It is a private quarter of Dalai Lama having grand staterooms and many important chapels. And then we visit Norbulinka. It is the house of Dalai Lama to visit in summer and considered to be the largest man-made garden in Tibet. Eventually, we visit Tibet museum which has a permanent collection of around 1000 artifacts related to the cultural history of Tibet. Overnight at the hotel includes bed and breakfast.
Fly back to Kathmandu.
Eventually, our trip comes to an end. Today is your departure day, we will drop you to the International airport to catch your flight back to your home and pray for your Safe journey.
